A Badge Built on the
Science of Resiliency

A new healthcare industry standard and evidence-based assessment that evaluates supplier resiliency at a product category level. Our mission is to build and enhance resiliency through partnership and continuity of patient care.

Achieve the Resiliency Badge

Prior to this initiative, the healthcare industry has lacked a transparent and credible way to identify high-reliability suppliers. The badge provides proof of supplier resiliency and enables providers to select for this competency commercially. The net impact is a stronger healthcare supply chain.

4 Key Benefits of the Resiliency Badge Program

  1. Proof of Resiliency

The badge is a trusted symbol of a supplier’s ability to withstand disruptions and deliver critical supplies.

  2. Demonstrate Strengths & Innovations

Showcases a supplier’s commitment to best practices, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  3. Increase Efficiency

Reduces the need for one-off data requests from different healthcare organizations.

  4. Continuity of Patient Care

Increase industry partnership, growth, and continuity of patient care.

Resiliency Badge Process

All provider leaders surveyed indicate they prefer suppliers with any level of Resiliency badge, as opposed to no badge.

Month 1: Onboarding

To get started, contact HIRC to receive information on NDA, data security, and scoring rubric. Scoring rubric covers the 8 risk domains.

Month 2: Review Rubric & Upload Artifacts

Assessor (PwC or Accenture) conducts supplier interviews, assigns points in scoring rubric, conducts remediation with supplier, and shares outcome with HIRC. 75% of questions are governance / process focused. 25% of questions are product / measures focused. Assessment is virtual and focuses on risk and operations management maturity. Questions are individually weighted. Suppliers are welcome to preview the rubric to evaluate readiness. Supplier chooses scope of product categories. Up to five may be included. Each category is individually assessed. Selected evidence is uploaded.

Month 3: Interviews & Results

Badge outcome determined: HIRC notifies supplier of badging outcome (none / Silver / Gold / Diamond) for each product category that was assessed. Earned badges renewed every three years. Supplier chooses preference on how to be celebrated, including pre and post communications. Template PR is available for your convenience.
